Hi friends! I’m Jessica Yeaton, a member of the Australian National Cross-Country Ski Team.I was born in Perth, Australia, but I grew up all over the world. I started skiing when I moved to Alaska at age 12, and it has been a passion I have pursued ever since. I studied Exercise Science at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, where I earned All-American honors during my senior year. After graduating, I moved back to Anchorage to ski professionally for the Alaska Pacific University (APU) Nordic Ski Center. I also graduated with a second degree in psychology from APU in May of 2016. I hope to to attend Physical Therapy School in the future- once I am done chasing my goals on snow.
I began skiing for the Australian National team in 2015, and have loved the adventure my racing schedule has taken me on. Last season, I had two finishes just outside of the top 30- one at World Championships in Lahti and another at World Cup Finals in Quebec. I hope to carry the momentum from these finishes into my racing next season on the World Cup and at my main focus- the 2018 winter Olympics in Pyeong Chang.
I feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to travel the world and train with amazing teammates while chasing my dreams. Between representing Australia in Europe and running in the Alaskan mountains- it is an incredible lifestyle!
